He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, was a member of the Labor Day Clown Committee.

Bobby L. Conner

Rozel – Bobby L. (Bob) Conner, 85, passed away January 1, 2015 at Diversicare of Larned.

He was born June 12, 1929, in Madison, Ks., the son of Dick and Mary Blanck Gossett, a lifetime area resident, he worked in the NCRA Oilfield for 41 years.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, was the mayor, served on the City Council and was a Mason, all of Rozel. He served over seas in the Korean Conflict. He was a Amateur Radio Operator (WA0BKS), a Nascar Enthusiast and loved to play the guitar.

On March 28, 1982, he married Deva Quinn at Rozel. She survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Steven Conner, Hutchinson, Rusty (Leslie) Coker, Liberal, Douglas (Penny) Lawson, Larned; a daughter, Julia (Randy) Blake, Rozel; four sisters, Ruth Phillips, Nevell Carlisle and Janice Rose, all of Russell, Dixie Gossett, Springfield, MO; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned with Pastor Brad McCoy presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Rozel Cemetery, Rozel with military graveside rites.

Corrine Catherine Finger

Corrine Catherine Finger, 75, died Dec. 31, 2014, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington. She was born July 16, 1939, in Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph Lawrence “Joe L.” and Regina Marie (Debes) Kaiser.

She graduated from Odin High School.

On April 27, 1963, she married Lawrence J. “Larry” Finger, in Odin, Kansas. He died Dec. 1, 2005.
Corrine worked as a secretary for St. Rose Hospital and Central Kansas Medical Center. She was a resident of Hoisington since 1963, coming from the Dubuque and Odin area.

Corinne was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society. She loved her family very much and was a caretaker for many of them.

Her surviving family includes; five siblings, Marvin Kaiser and wife Bernice of Hays, Gilbert Kaiser and wife Kathy of Kingman, Ronald Kaiser and wife Lucille of Hoisington, Jolene Rziha and husband Jim of Great Bend, and Marilyn Ricke of Hoisington; brother-in-law, Robert L. Finger of Hoisington; 15 nieces and nephews, Paula Beck and husband Andy, Brian Kaiser and wife Lynne, Chris Kaiser, Roger Kaiser and wife Katrina, Eric Kaiser, Lori Hogle and husband Jason, Andy Kaiser, Brad Kaiser, Troy Kaiser and wife Susan, Dale Kaiser and wife Sonja, Gina Dodd and husband Casey, Mona Dodd and husband Major Chad Dodd USMC, Carol Krug and husband Kerry, Daryl Schneider and wife Mary Lynne, and Keith Schneider and wife Shelly; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brother-in-law, Ted Ricke, and a sister-in-law, Betty Jean Schneider and her husband Joe.

Vigil service with Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at St. John the Evangalist Catholic Church, celebrated by Father Pascal Klein. Burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Odin. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m Saturday and 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Charles Robert Allen

St. John – Charles Robert (Chuck) Allen, 81 passed away December 26, 2014 at the South Wind Hospice, Pratt, KS.

He was born January 13, 1933 in Ogden, Utah; the son of Charles A. and Lucille Stearman Allen. A resident of Hideaway, Texas since 1999; he was a Director of Development for various universities.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Lindale, Texas. He was an avid golfer, liked playing tennis, collected coins, was very active in his church and community, liked birds and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

On July 25, 1953 he married Shirley R. Carmichael in St. Francis, Kansas. She passed away in 2011.

Survivors include; a son, Craig P. Allen, Houston, Texas; two daughters, Christie Allen Snyder and husband Joe, St. John and Robin Allen Kerber and husband Christopher, Rancho Cucamonga, California; four grandchildren, Nathan Snyder and wife Anna, Luke Snyder and wife Shannon, Matthew Kerber and Phillip Kerber and two great grandchildren, Evan Snyder and Grace Snyder.

He was preceded in death by; a sister, LuNeva Young.

Visitation with the family present will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned. Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, St. Francis, Kansas. Burial will be in the St. Francis Cemetery, St. Francis, Kansas.

Donald Ray Mounday

Larned-Donald Ray Mounday, 95, passed away December 24, 2014 at the Leisure Homestead at St. John.

He was born August 26, 1919 in Alden, KS, the son of Hugh and Grace Stopher Mounday. A longtime area resident he was a farmer and a Co-op employee. Serving Co-op patrons and being ornery brought Donald great joy. After retiring from the Co-op, he enjoyed helping several area farmers. He was of the Baptist Faith.

On July 29, 1978 he married Geraldine R. Davis in Burdett. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Donald Mounday Jr. and wife Cleo, Valley Center and Hugh Mounday and wife Linda, Hutchinson; one daughter, Donna Deines and husband William, WaKeeney; two step-sons, Don Taylor Jr. and wife Rita, St. John and Ed Taylor and wife Pam, Rozel; two Step-daughters, Susan Aistrup and husband Emmett, Hanston and Jodi Taylor, Larned; one sister, Nadine Jackson, Prescott, AZ; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and twelve step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Wykoff and a step-grandson, Chad Aistrup.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Larned Cemetery with Pastor Irving Simon presiding. Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.
