OBITUARY INFORMATION

During his senior year of high school, he was drafted into the United States Army and served nine months in Germany during World War II. Upon his return from Germany, he began farming with his father. He married Donna Jean Alice Bratrud August 22, 1949 at Blakjer Lutheran Church, near Fenton, Iowa. They moved to a farm near Ringsted, Iowa in 1953 and remained there until 1978 when ill health forced him to retire to Graettinger, Iowa, where Donna was employed. The Olsens moved to Great Bend in 2005 to be close to their daughters. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, pool, cards and spending time with family and friends.

He was a member of A. F. & A. M. Lodge #15, Isis Shrine, Western Kansas Chapter of American Petroleum Institute, Kansas Oil and Gas Museum Foundation, and Past Oilfield Division Chairman of United Way of Central Kansas.

Patty (Robertson) Wyman

Larned – Patty (Robertson) Wyman, 88, passed away October 30, 2014 at Hays Medical Center, Hays. She was born June 17, 1926, the daughter of John Harrison and Hazel Browning Robertson. A lifetime area resident she was a retired bookkeeper for the City of Larned and clerk of the Muncipal Court.

She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and also the Kansas Association of Court Management.

On September 6, 1952, she married Maurice R. Wyman in Hutchinson. He passed away January 30, 1964.

She was preceded in death by her son, Randal K. Wyman who passed away on May 21, 1998.
Cremation has taken place with no services planned.

Ladine Peterson

Pawnee Rock – Ladine Peterson, 95, passed away October 29, 2014 at the Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood.

She was born April 2, 1919, in Bison, she was the daughter of Everett and Frances Bitter Edwards. A lifetime area resident of Rush and Pawnee County, she began her career as a teacher and retired from the ASCS office in Larned.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Larned and played the piano for the Methodist Church in Albert and Pawnee Rock. She raised Persian cats and took them too many shows and she also loved flowers.

On April 3, 1941, she married Loraine Edwin Peterson in Bison. He passed away January 20, 1995.

Survivors include: a daughter, Lark Peterson, Pawnee Rock; three brothers, Zane and Bert Edwards, Bison and Forrest Edwards, Indiana; two sisters, Ruth “Susie” Krug, La Crosse and Holly Brock, Texas; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Debora Daubert and Candice Peterson; three brothers, Robert “Bob”, Tom and Everett “Peck” Edwards and four sisters, Lois Edwards, Hazel Stump, Minnetta “Mickey” Smith and Alma Edwards.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Pastor Darryl Peterson presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
