He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, both of Great Bend.
Virgil was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Hogan and Charles Riedl, and by two sisters Mary Rose Robbs and Carol Strobel.

Hoagland, Margaret PhotoLarned – Margaret H. Hoagland, 93, passed away June 23, 2014 at the Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood.

She was born June 8, 1921, in Hutchinson; the daughter of J.L. and Elsie Jahns Lunt. A longtime area resident, she was a social worker for 20 years and was also a teacher.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Larned.

Survivors include: a son, Mike Hoagland, Larned; a daughter, Nancy Doyle and husband James, Hutchinson; a brother, Howard Lunt, Fort Collins, Colorado and a granddaughter, Shannon Doyle, Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Lunt.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Father Nicholas Voelker presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned, Kansas.

OBITUARY INFORMATION 

He married Mary “Paula” Hipsher October 16, 1965 at Great Bend, Kansas. 

He was a service technician for Southwestern Bell and AT&T.

Mr. Brozek was a Great Bend, Kansas resident since 1962 coming from Lucas, Kansas.

He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Conflict.

He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Southwestern Bell Telephone Pioneers, and Kansas ACTS Ministry, where he was actively involved in taking people to the ACTS Retreat in Amarillo, Texas.

Mr. Brozek was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed cowboy poetry and music, and attending ranch rodeos. His greatest love was for his family, especially his grandchildren.   A very kind and gentle man, Mr. Brozek enjoyed traveling, especially to Alaska and visit family.

Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Weldon’s life will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend. Father Don Bedore will be celebrant. The casket will not be opened at the church.  Military rites will be conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard. She then married Alvin Schneider September 17, 1982 at Hoisington, KS. He passed away June 16, 1994.
Mrs. Schneider was a Hoisington, Kansas resident since 1943 coming from Chandler, OK.
Betty was a bank clerk for Hoisington National Bank for 22 years, retiring in 1982. She also worked at Safeway Grocery Store and C.O. Mammels, and previously co-owned and operated the Cardinal Plaza Dress Shop.
Betty was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Emmanuel Women of the ELCA, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary, all of Hoisington. She was known by her beloved family and friends as an avid cook, seamstress, bowler, and gardener.

Irene married Wayne Edward Ensle March 30, 1940, in Hoisington and were later divorced. She then married Lester Oakley on October 15, 1951, in Hoisington. Lester passed away on November 17, 1957. She then married Kenneth Arthur Simmons May 21, 1966 at Great Bend, KS. Kenneth passed away May 16, 1973.
Mrs. Simmons was a lifetime Hoisington resident, working for the Hoisington Public Library and Cornerstone Interiors.
Irene was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Life Member of LWML, and was the Supervising Judge for the Election Board, serving in Ward 1 for 48 years. She also served as the treasurer for victory EHU for 14 years and was the last surviving charter member of the Hoisington Hospital Auxiliary, helping to organize it in 1953.

He was a carpenter for Lindholm Construction, Great Bend, and later was a self-employed carpenter for ten years.

Mr. Rice was an Andover, Kansas resident for six years coming from Great Bend, where he had resided since 1950.

He was a United States Army Air Force veteran, serving during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. 

He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3111, American Legion Argonne Post 180, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #646, B. P. O. Elks Lodge #1127, and A. F. & A. M. Lodge #15, all of Great Bend; and Midian Shrine, Wichita.

Mark Alan Wysong

Larned – Mark Alan Wysong, 48, passed away June 8, 2014 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

He was born September 11, 1965 in Hutchinson; the son of William L. and Mona Marie Bernstorf Wysong. A lifetime area resident he worked at Tauchers Collision Services as an Auto Body Technician.

He was a member of the Nazarene Church, Larned, the Wind Chimes, the N.R.A. and was a graduate of both Larned High School and the Auto Body Vo Tech School in Dodge City

On July 27, 1991 he married Tonya Shane Rouse at Larned. She survives.

Other survivors include; his mother, Mona Marie Wysong, Larned; one son, Mark Alan Wysong Jr. of Larned; two daughters, Sheena Shala Wysong and Sonya Marie Wysong, both of Larned; Joining our family a niece Tori Anne Rouse and a Nephew, Zane Michael Rouse; a brother, Robert Wysong, Larned and four grandchildren, Joseph Hunter Medina, Jaionna Shane Maxine Robinson, Leyum Gunner Medina and Brylee Renae Medina.

He was preceded in death by; his father William L. Wysong.

Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Pastor LeRoy Lyon presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the mortuary. The casket will remain closed. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned, Kansas.
