Steven E. Crockett

Larned – Steven E. Crockett, 60, died January 20, 2013, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

He was born March 31, 1952, in Dodge City, the son of Edward and Emma James Crockett. A long time Larned resident, he was a disciplinary hearing officer for the Juvenile Justice Authority.

He was of the Christian faith; He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a Boy Scout leader, a USD 495 school board member and the Pawnee County Crime Stoppers

On July 8, 1973 he married Carol Arrowsmith in Sedgwick, Ks. She survives

Other survivors include: a son, Matt Crockett and wife Candi, Commerce City, C0.; a daughter, Tess Gevara and husband Mickey, Larned; two sisters, Sue Hosford, Texas, Judy DuPree, Kinsley; two grandchildren, Ethan and Jaci Gevara

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sally Warner.

Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Ryan Webster presiding. Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.

He was a United States Marine Corps veteran, serving during World War II. 

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Great Bend.
