Married Pete J. Scheck November 21, 1938 at Walker, Kansas.  He died March 19, 2004.

She was a sales clerk for Big A Auto Parts and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Scheck was a Hays, Kansas, resident since 2004 coming from Great Bend, where she had resided since 1941.

She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and Daughters of Isabella, all of Great Bend. She was a hospice volunteer and a foster parent to more than twenty-five children.

She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Eagles Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary. She was formerly Senior Center president and a volunteer for Barton County Historical Society. She loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A lifetime resident of Ellinwood, Mr. DeWerff was an oilfield chemical salesman and worked for Thies Packing.
A lifetime resident of Ellinwood, Mrs. DeWerff was a homemaker and had worked as an appraiser for Barton County.
Shirley loved and collected antiques and dolls and appeared on the Antiques Roadshow. They were both of the
Christian Faith.
