She was a cook for Holiday Inn, Highland Manor, and the Senior Center.

Mrs. Saenz was a Great Bend, Kansas, resident since 1954 coming from Lamar, Colorado.

She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3111 Auxiliary.  She was a Gold Star Mother.

On Tuesday, November 22, 2011, John Peters lost the love of his life, his best friend, and the most beautiful girl in the world. Donna and John were married sixty-four years and were very dedicated to each other, always putting the other one first. When John met Donna, he knew instantly she was the girl for him.  They were married three months later on October 11, 1947 at Dodge City, Kansas, joined hearts, and truly became one for the next sixty-four years of life.

Donna’s passion was taking care of her family and making sure they had a big meal on the table. She was a talented seamstress and created many beautiful quilts for her family. Donna and John raised six children and cared for fourteen foster children over the years and helped many others in need.
