James W. Crowe

Garfield – James W. Crowe, 55, passed away December 17, 2016 at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned.

He was born June 2, 1961 in Cheyenne, Wyoming; the son of Orville and Patricia Olson Crowe. A lifetime area resident; he was a truck driver.

James loved hunting and fishing and was a big outdoorsman. He loved his grandchildren and taking care of his mother.

He married Gina Tabler October 5, 1998; she passed away April 25, 2009.

Survivors include; his mother, Patricia Mitchell, Garfield; a son, Daniel (Samantha) Crowe, Great Bend; a brother, David Berry, Garfield; a sister, Tammy Hendry (Martin Lyons), Larned and three grandsons.

He was preceded in death by; his wife Gina and his father Orville Crowe and a brother Alan Berry.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.

Glenn Edward Moore

moore-glennALBERT — Glenn Edward Moore, 94, passed peacefully in his sleep about 8:30, Sunday morning, Dec. 18, 2016, in Great Bend. Born March 7, 1922, at Otis, he was the son of John Henry and Katie (Diehl) Moore. He married Margaret Elaine Devine Moore Nov. 12, 1980, at Great Bend.  She died December 25, 2011. A lifetime Rush Country resident, Mr. Moore was a farmer and cattleman, enjoying his cattle (most of the time). He was an avid hunter, enjoyed his cars, playing pitch and especially loved spending time with family, friends and loved ones.

He was of the United Methodist faith.

Glenn had a big spirit and personality; having a sharp mind until the time of his passing. He was making personal and business decisions and thinking of those he loved until passing on his own terms. He allowed the family precious time together, a time they will cherish. He was loved and will be deeply missed. Remember Glenn’s wit, humor and a favorite joke.

Survivors include three daughters, Norma Beadles and her husband Terry of Clarkston, Wash.; June Schneider and her husband Gerald of Great Bend, and Sharon Riggs and her husband Wayne of Littleton, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Debbie Bond, Brenda Kennedy, Gordon McAfee, April Watson, Lynn Kern, Stephanie Wofford, Timothy Riggs and Christina Kastle; three step-grandchildren, Mike Moore, Craig Moore and Shelley Hejny; 28 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by step son, Charlie Moore; one brother, Lester Moore; and four sisters, Betty Goodman, Mildred Spaunhurst, LaVina Marsh and infant Alice Moore.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Foster officiating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials have been established with Heartland Cancer Patient Care and Support Endowment Fund or American Cancer Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.

Robert Eugene Haberman

GREAT BEND — Robert Eugene Haberman, 70, died Dec. 18, 2016, at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born July 23, 1946, at Great Bend, he was the son of Joseph L. and Mary T. (Koester) Haberman. He was a long time Great Bend resident. He was a client of Sunflower Diversified Services.

Mr. Haberman was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend.

Survivors include his mother, Mary T. Haberman of Great Bend; two brothers, Bill Haberman of Houston, Texas, and Joseph Haberman of Great Bend; several nieces and nephews, including Shelly Arnberger and Wendy Lockwood, both of Great Bend; and caretaker, Lisa Sterba and the rest of the Sunflower staff. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Haberman; one brother, Bernard Haberman; and two sisters, Virginia Peters and Delores Ryan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend, with Father Don Bedore celebrating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at Bryant Funeral Home. Cleo Dick

Burdett – Cleo Dick, 97, passed away December 15, 2016 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend.

She was born October 23, 1919 in Rush County, Kansas; the daughter of Issac E. and Bertha Williams Miller. A lifetime area resident; she was a homemaker.

She loved making wedding cakes, gardening, canning, making quilts and Clothes. She also loved raising chickens.

On November 22, 1942 she married Lloyd Dick at Larned. He passed away November 5, 1997.

Survivors include; One brother, Gene Miller, Nekoma, KS.

She was preceded in death by; a son, Daniel; one brother, Chet Miller and two sisters, Shirley Jennings and Golda Miller.

Graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Larned Cemetery, Larned, KS. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial will be at the Larned Cemetery.

Wanda M. Kollhoff

Burdett- Wanda M. Kollhoff, 90, passed away December 15, 2016 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 18, 1926 in Burdett, KS. the daughter of W.T. and Leora Moore Crockett. An area resident, she was a homemaker and a Nurses Aid.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Burdett, United Methodist Women and the American Legion Auxiliary. She Loved to sew and crochet

On February 17, 1945 in Hutchinson, KS. she married Ernest L. Kollhoff. He passed away October 26, 1999.

Survivors include: three sons, Mike (Linda) Kollhoff, Hutchinson, KS., Dan Kollhoff, Garden City, KS. and Dick (Bobbi) Kollhoff, Pretty Prairie, KS.; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She Loved and was very proud of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by, two brothers, Elvin Crockett and Delmar Crockett; two sisters, Louise Fooshee and Lucille Newman.

Graveside service will be held Monday at 11:00 am at Browns Grove Cemetery, Burdett, KS. with Pastor Brad McCoy presiding. Visitation will be held Saturday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.

Delores J. (Davis) Willinger

GREAT BEND — Delores J. (Davis) Willinger, 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 17, 2016 at Brookdale Senior Living, Great Bend. She was born Oct. 28, 1933, at Oswego, the daughter of Lawrence J. and Cora (Helton) Davis. She married Lloyd L. Willinger July 11, 1954, at First Baptist Church, Ellinwood.  He died March 15, 2013. A Great Bend resident since 2013, coming from Hudson, Mrs. Willinger was a homemaker.

Mrs. Willinger was a member of First Baptist Church south of Ellinwood. She was an avid gardener and loved going everywhere with her husband.

Survivors include one son, Darrell Willinger of Great Bend; two grandchildren, Brooks and Ellie; three sisters, Bessie DeWerff of Ellinwood, Marilyn Kasselman and Joyce Rose, both of Great Bend; and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Davis of Great Bend. She was preceded in death by one brother, L. D. Davis.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at First Baptist Church south of Ellinwood, with Pastor David Wesner officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery, Hudson. Ruth E. Ochs, 88, died December 15, 2016, in Great Bend, Kansas. She was born January 20, 1928, on the farm in Ellis County, the daughter of Wilhelm and Freda (Adolph) Maier.
On June 24, 1951, she married Wilmer Theodore Ochs in Otis, Kansas. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1981.
A longtime resident of Otis, Ruth spent 40 years on the farm north of Otis moving into town in 1992. She loved quilting with friends, reading, crocheting, and crossword puzzles.
Ruth was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Otis and the local Quilting Club.
She is survived by; son, Stanley Ochs and wife Ann of Hutchinson; daughter, Sandra Wilkerson and husband Terry of Great Bend; daughter-in-law, Barbara J. Ochs of Lawrence; brother, Robert Maier and wife Shirley of Great Bend, sister, Sharon Dodson of Pratt; four grandchildren, Heather Jones and husband Eric of Hutchinson, Stanley Ochs of Hutchinson, Thomas Wilkerson and wife Andrea of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Tyler Wilkerson and wife Amanda of Pittsburg, Texas; and seven great grandchildren Bria, Tre’Vaughn, and Avandre Jones, Katelyn M. Ochs-Burkhart, and Alexandra, Anastasia, and Riley Wilkerson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, Steven Ochs, and an infant brother, Billy Lee Maier.
Prayer service will be 7 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2016, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Otis, with Reverend Bruce Adamson presiding. Burial will follow in Otis Lutheran Cemetery.
