LaPolice hoping the Democratic ballot is the difference in 2018

Alan LaPolice

Alan LaPolice, the farmer from Clyde, is hoping the third time is a charm. LaPolice is again in the race to take the seat in Kansas’ 1st Congressional District, currently being held by Dr. Roger Marshall. LaPolice campaigned for Congress in 2014 losing to Tim Huelskamp in the Republican Primary, and in 2016 losing to Marshall in the General Election as an Independent.

LaPolice says his main goal of running for office is to restore the public’s trust.

LaPolice received 45 percent of the vote against Huelskamp in 2014, but in the 2016 election against Marshall he received only 26 percent.

No one is running against LaPolice in the Democratic Primary in 2018 and most people anticipate him to face Marshall again in the General Election this November. Nick Reinecker is filed as a Republican and will face incumbent Marshall in the Primary.

LaPolice participated in the Great Bend Forum Tuesday at Great Bend High School and hopes more debates will come after the Primary Election.
