ELLIS COUNTY— Law enforcement authorities are investigating a drug suspect and asking for assistance to locate him.

Just after 7p.m. Saturday, Matthew J. Alvis, led officers on a pursuit through portions of Hays and Ellis County, according to Assistant Police Chief Brian Dawson.

The pursuit ended when Alvis ditching the vehicle and fled on foot.  Officers have been unable to locate him.

Alvis is wanted for felony drug and flee and elude law enforcement charges.  He has three previous convictions for drugs, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.

Anyone with information on Alvis is asked to contact police in Hays.
